As some of you may know i bought a spares or repair car on the cheap to fix up mine mainley to get the tailgate and leather seats

But since getting her home she is to good to break so what to do?

With the help of dick i know have power steering and radiators in one piece it also has 4 legal tyres
Its currently got a few issues needs service brakes done all round and abs/traction control light on
I found a little hole underneath for welding but apart from that its pritty good with no rust round the arches
mot is due now its got 72k on the clock full service history

then you have mine
49k older v reg rust around the arches but i can eat my dinner of the engine bay its been serviced new tyres all round heated front windscreen and a few small tents in the tailgate
its got all the mots from new brakes would pass an mot but could do with replacment as discs have seen better days

so what do i do? i can only keep one

i was thinking about replacing the brakes on mine with brand new ones and then using the old discs and pads for the spares or repairs one then i can swap the leather and tailgate to

opinions its the rust on the arches thats bothering me

Put all the best and shiny bits on the car in need of the least tlc.

Unfortunately what ever decision you make, something may need doing in the future that makes you wish you had stuck with the other one.

Sods law.

i am thinking about keeping the one with 49k swaping parts and the money i get for the spares or repairs when mot done could pay for a bodyshop getting the arches fixed

that way i have an excelent low milage one and i save a cougar:) i think i am mainley like this as my one has not gave me any real hastle since getting it in january and the other one just dont know

I would stick with your one Andy as the new one is an unknown entity and may have had dodgy repairs etc unless there is a very good reason to change stick with the one you know

got some one coming round to my house tommorow to look at the rear wings to see how much it would cost to fix.

well im now feeling gutted boy came round had a look at my cougar says he could fix the rear wings but the rust would come back sooner than later

so then i showed him the other couger and he said he could have that one looking like new for a £100

so looks as though my project one will be getting kept and the one with 49k getting sold (unless i win the lottery) so if any one is looking for a couger this will be for sale soon once i get my project on the road

he would out stuff on it but i think its the case unless i put it in the coachworks and get it through an oven i am going to have problems.
I am thinking about putting the project on the road and keeping the 49k one in the garage and save the pennys as i know from experience how rear a good car is know a days
Im just worried about storing as it may be a couple of years and dont want to cause issues with oil rings etc I could easily put the car on axle stands and put it to the back of the garage
