Good to be back! I promised myself id own another Cougar.

For those of you that dont remember me (Most i expect, i didnt post too much)

I'm Dan. I'm 20 and live in Wiltshire.

For the past 7 years my dad has had a V6 Cougar and loved it, i also loved it, thats where the interest comes from! His is now on 120k, Still driven daily and he still loves it.

Last year i had a 2L 1998 Cougar and i loved it. However a Cougar at ages 19 with a part time job.. wasnt practical. So it had to go :( Sold it just before last years Spring performance day at Castle combe! I then saw you lot at Combe and it made me sad! I missed that car badly.

However recently started a full time job as an engineer now im done with education. :)

I treated myself. The car ive wanted since i was about 15!

It's an awesome 2001 V6 C2 in Amazon Green.

Picked it up yesterday, Short bit of info on it i have:

70K Miles - FULL Service history
2 Owners from new
All the optional extras from what i can tell, Leather seats, Climate control, TC, Electric everything!
It's a C2 so it looks better ;)
First C2 ive ever seen in the Amazon Green, the paintwork is beautifull.

9 Months MOT/3 Months Tax.

Done 150 miles in about 24 hours ownership so far.. Loving it. Such a nice car to drive, so smooth and awesome. Well chuffed.

Best of all, it only cost me £1500. Which i consider a very good price for a V6 with that low mileage and FSH :)

Most of my mates are still driving small engine'd hatchbacks, I'm 20 and have the car ive always wanted :)

Good to be back. Hoping to keep it a while and become active on here.

Anyhow, some pictures of it: (Quick pics when i got home, will get some better ones when its properly cleaned.)

Welcome back Dan. Nice unmolested "ugly" you got yourself ;). Iirc all the green C2's were Amazon, the C1's were Tourmaline. It's great to hear that excitement again for the cougar, brings back the GRIN factor which is very refreshing. You've got all winter to get ready for next years show season so hopefully we'll see you soon. (y)

Welcome back!! Surprised you've not seen a C2 in green before though, common as muck on here lol!! Good luck with the car and hope you do get the chance to get stuck in to the forum :)

Hahah all the C2's i saw when looking were Silver!

And yeah Pid, the grin factor is amazing, Love driving it, love the way the V6 sounds and love the fact for my age etc i went out with my own money, bought and insured it :)

Made my dad jealous also as he reckons mine drives nicer/smoother than his did when he got it 7 years ago.

And I'm the opposite, I think the C2 wheel is much better as it's smaller and has a better grip to it. The C2 leather is nice, stick C1 front on a C2 and you'd have a pretty sweet car :)

I preffer the C2 Front heh :)

Also quick question. My power steering is heavier than my dads/than my old C1?

Should it be? Its not super super heavy, its working. But its noticeably heavier than my old C1/My dads C1

That's a thought. Could be several reasons but I would have thought yours should be similar at least to the older one. That said, it is a Ford!

Cheers for the welcome backs lads.

And no my dads doesnt have different sized tyres. He refuses to change the size of them despite me telling him a whole set is cheap in a slightly different size, hes always stuck with the factory size!

I'll have a gander this weekend, im competant working on cars, or at least i beleive i am, Id hope so seeing as im working on brand new cars all day with this new job  Although we do often cut holes in things/hit stuff with hammers on brand new fords/mercs o_O

Welcome (back) to the club. I had an Amazon Green C2 - I think I saw it with a new owner around these parts somewhere

Ahhh....the Castle Combe meet - we're already looking forward to it
