You mean the matting stuck to the underneath of the bonnet? If so, there should be a few people on here, as many decide to get rid of it and polish the paintwork (or even add mirror panels) underneath the bonnet, so there maybe a few with one or two stuck in a dark corner of their cave lol!!

I think bobster had his steam cleaned a long time ago and it came up like new. But that's only if it's got no rips or tears. Otherwise, as Tim says, do awway with it and clean and polish under the bonnet.

Rip it off!

I did...

Mine's gone. I won't question the reasons why you want it, but the car itself is better off without it. All it does is trap heat and prematurely age your engine.

If you have a Zetec, the sound-proofing it offers isn't great and isn't really needed.
If you have a V6, take the pad out, turn down your stereo, and listen to the 6-cylinder music.

There really is no benefit to having it.

Enjoyed removing tatty matting, looks better already!
What were Ford thinking?....... was it purely for sounding proofing and not to protect under bonnet from engine heat?
