Spoilers and their many types!

Hello folks,

been trying to find a 2nd hand/Used OEM ford Cougar spoiler, but there seems to be a couple of types available.
The most common ones are The boot wing type, that just spans the boot wing and connects either side.
And the other type being a sort of "split" one , that has a middle connector.

Now, I've been told by the respective owners that both of these are OEM/Factory Fitted ones, but i've never seen either for sale separately and I cant imagine ford having 2 different versions so one of the above isn't OEM clearly!

Now, the fun bit:

Do I keep trying to source a OEM spoiler for pennies (been trying for months but there's never any on Ebay for less than brand new 3rd party ones, we're talking £60+ here) or just pay lightly less (£50) and get a 3rd party universal one from Germany and drill the boot lid to fit it.

They are both OEM, Matt. The first one is the 'regular' Ford OEM option spoiler, the second (with the middle leg) is an MS Designs spoiler, which could be ordered through Ford dealers at purchase (along with a full MS Designs bodykit, if so desired) and would be supplied painted and fitted to your brand new Ford Cougar. The MS designs stuff was fully approved and warrantied by Ford.

Both are OEM, one was the MS designs Ford version and the other was standard.. they are becoming rare now, but they do pop up from time to time.. but, and this is the big "But" they never seem to sell for pennies anymore.. also even with the OEM one you will need to drill the boot lid anyway..
