Squeaky armrest

Check the hinge screws, both sets, and check the plastic clip insert, these can break loose and allow the lid to move with vibration.

I think it's the whole unit Al, I have to wobble the whole thing while driving to stop it.. I have just realised this whole thread is full of double entendre's and is slipping down fast..o_O :D

Are you sure its the lid? It could be the actual console fastening screws in the bottom of the box. Take out the cd tray or tape box insert and check the screws in there. I know these centre consoles have a lot of "give" so if anything at all is loose, it'll squeak

I don't know what it is but i will take a look at both of what you mentioned Al, thanks chap.. :)

I will wait till you finished your various areas then chap...

LOL that did sound dirty but DRAPER (not Raper) silicone spray is used to help repel damp from coil packs and alternators etc. you can also use it for lubing locks, over torqued tight nuts and squeaky doors.. oh.. and beds :stop: i say no more. lol

by the way, i tried to lube the whole box by using the spray, rocked the armrest, open closed it, went for a drive and have not heard a squeak yet.
