So my V6 has been stored for a while in a yard by a friend's unit in Nelson, Lancashire.

It was there Friday night, wasn't there Sunday night.

If anybody spots a breaking post with a frosty rear bumper with road paint splashed on the NSR bumper, or a welded rear arm - please let me know. I've been ringing around breakers trying to find a rear bumper for a frosty, but none around Nelson (where the car was taken from) seem to have one.

ST200 UIM fitted, standard UIM in the boot with a CatFab rear strut brace I never got around to fitting before mothballing the Cougar for a later date when I had time.

Also taken at the same time was an Audi TT Quattro in blue.

Might want to mention the reg, although sad fact is its probably been stolen for crime and will be burnt out before long. They take too long to strip and sell for it to be hidden

Would take some work to get ready for crime. Best of luck to them there. Reg not that important as it won't be on it for obvious reasons.

Still, you make a reasonable point. W822 NBB
Another easy identification is a patched fuel filler pipe.

I take it that you have already contacted the local Police and have a crime reference number? I'm sorry to say that it's possibly no longer in this country, as most get shipped off to Europe. Best of luck. Is there any businesses etc. that have CCTV cameras in the area? I take it that you still have the keys for it?

I'm sorry to say that it's possibly no longer in this country, as most get shipped off to Europe.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but the ones that end up in Europe or the Middle East (and increasingly frequently, some African countries) are typically high-end cars stolen to order. It's just that I find it hard to believe that some Latvian mobster out there had a penchant for a right-hooker Cougar...

I'm more inclined to believe that these two have been stolen to be some gang's "pool cars" and as Ricky says, well end up being used in further crimes.

Really sorry to her about this, Chris. Fingers crossed for you.

A few years ago, it wasn't uncommon for stolen motors from the UK to end up in Albania, and not necessarily high-end stuff either. Like with crims collecting "pool cars", I think it may have been a case of taking anything that was relatively easy to steal (older vehicles lacking the more modern anti-theft measures that make it impossible to take a vehicle without the keys).

Anyway, so sorry to hear about this, thieving ****s need stringing up by their unmentionables...

Thanks all. I only want to know where they went so I can hopefully have a quiet word with the little git that had them away.

I doubt they've been nicked for anything other than cubing to feed a drug habit. The TT needs a brake cylinder, and the Cougar isn't running right, as well as having an ABS sensor needing to be swapped.

If they're driving them and can live with the issues: Fair play to them.

As said, the romantic "stolen to order" is just daft for UK cars. Buying a Cougar is cheaper than the container to ship it in if headed to anywhere RHD.

Nobody steals cheap/freely available cars that have issues for anything other than cubing. Great cheap cars, but nonetheless, no real financial hit to just buy one from a private seller, and register false details on the V5. Much less heat as not reported stolen, and just as difficult to catch the driver by reg plate alone.

Risk/reward ratio - nobody other than a junkie would fancy the payoff more than the risk.

Joaane and I are on a couple of buy and sell pages around the Burnley area, so we'll keep an eye out.

Thanks bud. If you spot likely parts etc, please give me a shout - number PM'd. I'd like to find the culprits.

Suspect it was some young tit that had no idea what it was but looked exotic enough to pinch or something to add to the list of motors he had taken for a joy ride.

Sorry to hear of the theft, can't have anything these days unless it's bolted down. I'm on fleabay most days too so will keep my eyes peeled, but I'm also of the school of thought that it will be used for getting a cashpoint out of a Tesco Local or something then burnt out afterwards. Hope you get some better news on it though :(

Some scum in the world :(

Like has already been said id be expecting it to be used in some sort of crime then burnt out.

Hope you get a postive result but knowing the police not likely, was it still insured on fire and theft whilst you stored it? Least that way you might get something back?

Im always looking on ebay ill keep an eye but dobut thats where it will end up
