My Cougar today passed its MOT ....With no advisories ..can't believe it to be honest think I need to go lay down ..or I might wake up in a minute and realise I was dreaming again :LOL::LOL:

Yep going to try get things done on old Christine starting with getting the bits done underneath the car , but alas I need to grow a backbone first instead of being a spineless jellyfish where axle stands are concerned :LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

As long as it is on fairly level ground mate and the stands are not rocking around axle stands are fine, I always leave a jack there as a back up just incase anything ever did happen with the stands but I have never had a car on stands fall/drop in the 20 years I have messed with cars.

If it is not something that needs wheels off you could always use a cheap set of ramps if the cat is not lowered?.

Put it this way to show how much of a coward I am ..Put it up on the stands ..rocked the car pushed against it and as you said it didn't budge ..then sat for 30 minutes looking at the back and was still scared to get under it ... But have no problem using a trolly jack and shoving my head underneath the car ..work that out

Excellent. The test is a bit bonkers though. I've had adviseries which magically disappear by themselves the following year!
