Well it looks like my C1 'standard, unmessed with' V6 is not quite as original as I thought!

After giving her the once-over with Andy today it appears to have a replacement engine from a newer car which didn't have the EGR valve fitted - the EGR system has been fitted in place of the blank it would have had. I knew that yellow paint pen on some of the engine parts was there for a reason!

Then although the car appears to be an X-pack (heated leather), it may never have had a CD changer fitted! (No boot tray, changer bracket and bracket holes covered with clear factory-looking tape).

Someone's fitted a C2 handbrake handle - at least they did a better job than whoever attatched the cone air filter with duct tape.........

I'm just off to check the VIN with the DVLA:LOL:

Certainly looked like an 'X' reg. no. had been written in yellow on the UIM.

Engine build date of early Feb. 2000 in a vehicle first registered in the middle of Feb. 2000, possible but highly unlikely, in fact a younger engine than the one in my X reg.
Engine has a round top to the dipstick and various non-standard bolts and screws holding both the IMRC and it's cover on.
