Well to be fair, we're probably not talking "Bland Vauxhall Astra red that fades to pink within 5 years" here. Because I agree I hate that sort of colour.
For me, if Ebony wasn't an option, I would definitely go for Rover Nightfire Type 2.
Red is a proper sportscar colour, I always thought it looked great on the Probe, gave it a real poor man's ferrari

Agreed, MG Rover had some great colours in their latter years. Saw a purple/green flip ZT today, still looks great.

Those were the Monogram colours, and I agree they've aged really well. One of T's club members has a ZT-T in Poseidon - From blue to purple to olive green depending on how you view it.
Nightfire (the CAQ code) has been around since the first Coupes as far as I know. Like 1992/93 I think. I've certainly seen Stage 1 Coupes in that colour.
Thanks mate. I knew they had a name! That lovely pale china blue and a very very smart yellow too
