Hi,

Haven't been here in a while. I have a spare V6 2.5 mondeo that I'm going to destroy before taking it to a scrap yard tomorrow but I was curious what parts I can use from it in the 2.0 Cougar I have? Can I use the clutch or is that a different model for V6 and none V6?

Hello again Ian.
If the rear subframe on the Mondy isn't shot rust-wise that could be worth saving along with the rest of the rear suspension, brake calipers etc.
The front suspension apart from the wishbones although the V6 springs have a higher rating than the 2.0.
The front brakes on the V6 are bigger and a straight swap.
Internal fusebox, relays, washer bottle, if the header tank has a low-level sensor you could enable the warning lamp in your dash and fit that.
Has the Mondy got cruise? The V6 actuator cables are much sought after or save the whole kit and put it in yours.
Heated washer jets with their loom.

This is going to be contentious, but the front subframe and wishbones are also compatible. Sort of. The Cougar ones are stronger, but to my mind the average Cougar - with the same engine - experiences the same forces so I'm not sure I see the harm.

In any case if you're taking the car that far apart, you might at least take them off and have them in reserve.

Boot light, rear footwell lights from the centre console?, ashtrays, lighter surround, HU, aerial, remote audio kit, dash dimmer and headlamp levelling controls, column stalks, scuttle panel screw covers.
