Hi everyone, Just a quick question 🙋,

What size bolts are used in the V6 lower arms?

If I remember correctly, I think it's 4xM10 and 4xM12 at a length of around 76mm?

Can anyone confirm my thoughts please?

I want to order some, but I refuse to pay for Ford 45+VAT for eight bolts!

Many thanks

John.

Yeah I've found the type of bolt that is correct, I just the size and roughly the length, as I could always trim the bolt down.

Thanks for the replies matey :)

The stretch probably is too short to see...and i'm not sure how it would be seen with a socket over the nut..it doesn't mean they are not stretch bolts.

Plus i thought the Torque was 70NM for the M10 and 90NM for the M12?

Anyway...it's the OP's choice, save a few quid or use the proper bolts from Ford...personally i would go Ford every time.

I have to agree with Mart there. They are expensive for a reason and to put it plainly, they were specified by a fully qualified engineer who knew a great deal more about selecting the right fastener for the application than most people.

Incidentally, T had her wishbones replaced (the first time) on her Mondy by a garage. They used 8.8s.

The nearside bolts let go on the Monks' Way roundabout, and nearly pitched her onto the A5, a hundred feet below.

Don't cheat on your car. Ever.

also the 10.9 and 12.9 are less prone to rusting as there an alloy steel and 12.9's have a about 50% greater tensile strength fwiw
