Hi, I've had a rush of blood to the wallet and ordered a new Volvo V40, so I think its time to sell the Cougar, but what do I ask for it?

Its a 2001 V6 in blue, 113,000 miles and I bought it 5 years ago @ 93000 when hard up.

It will have a new MOT tomorrow and in its time with me its had
New front steering and suspension joints
New AIC valve
New fuel pump
Replacement radio - Sony CD/USB/FM/AM
New battery
New discs and pads
New front heated screen - that works!!
Full service 2000 miles ago

Faults
Pad warning lamp (dicky wire)
Ding to OSF wing
Lower paintwork not great

Pretty reliable, went to Germany at Christmas. I'd quite like to hang on to it as a retirement "toy" but lack of space and eye watering VED makes this second choice.

Pity about the wing but they seem to be making around £500 in that condition.

Sounds a plan. I think a tear will be shed when it goes - I do love driving it, although the VED hike this year as I understand it, is diabolical.
Only affects cars registered from 2017 so no change for Cougars.

It actually looks in pretty good condition generally.

I think what I would do is try to source a Melina wing from a scrapper and slap it on - it's only like 12 bolts and no welding. You can do it in an afternoon. At that point I'd then give it the detailing of its life and market it at £600... and let them talk me down to £550.
