I've never done any Ford big-end work so I'm a bit confused. Is that a con rod?!

::EDIT:: Scratch that - it clearly is. Oh dear!

Yep aftermarket forged rod. That's been a big end bearing failure rather than a boost spike me thinks. I've seen bent conrods from excessive boost before but this one's big end has blued with heat, indicating that it seized at the crankpin rather than got buckled by boost pressure. Who's is/was it Rob?

Will it polish out? Exellent rainbow effects there, and the blue is perfectly positioned. Good exercise in case hardening methinks, hang on, that particular part didn't really ought to be that colour, any chance of seeing the crank?
I do hope this isn't yours Rob.

Its not mine guys but it is the same rods I run!

It was caused by excessive boost and running lean. It caused a boost spike that damaged the shell and then did the mess you see above!
