Imagine if I'd had to pay for the labour!!
Exactly. As the esteemed Mr. Morris said upthread, that's why this is more than just a forum.
Since we're all sharing, here's what mine have cost, minus test, tax, insurance and petrol;
Mako (2.0 Zetec Frosty)
Purchase price: £1700 (March 2011).
Other expenditure: £790
(Brake pads front, brake pads rear, brake disks rear, two oil changes, Pipercross BK, rear strut brace, gear knob, Mercury badging, 4 x tyres, chrome battery cover, C1 leather interior (complete), vinyls, front fogs, crystal repeaters, cambelt.)
Tiger (2.5 V6 Ebony X-Pack)
Purchase price: £285 (April 2013).
Other expenditure: £270
(Sill welding, front drop links, 1 x alloy wheel repair, replacement IMRC, front wings, bonnet and tailgate, vinyls, floor mats, oil change)
On the face of it Tiger looks like better value, but I haven't had it anywhere near as long, and there's probably about £450 worth of parts (and some labour that I can't do, like shot-blasting the subframe) going into it before the end of the year.
