Hi Alan, I had just the one run with a time of 7.64 (realy chuffed to as its my 1st ever go) :)

Right, so lets start with some pictures - i think its in order that we did the runs first time around although the ultra competitive ones did go again later.

So first up, was, well....me

Zetec 4 x 4....first time the engine was turned over after going back to oem box. Since this run, put a performance filter on and I reckon she will go a few tenths quicker

Bloke at the side of the car (hereafter knows as timekeeper): "4x4 eh? is that a Mondeo?" To which I responded - "no, its a cougar....and yes - it can be done."

At launch - no wheels spin, bogged down ever so slightly but a good getaway

DSCF2459.jpg

perfectly poised

DSCF2461.jpg

The time - better than a stock zetec

DSCF2462.jpg

Next up was Uncle Al

Timekeeper: "Is that a Jag?." Uncle Al: "No, do you need some stickers?"

DSCF2463.jpg

Timekeeper - "definitely a Jag."

DSCF2464.jpg

Half way down the front wheels finally stopped spinning

DSCF2465.jpg

The time - well, about two seconds slower than it should have been but for the wheel spin

DSCF2466.jpg

Now its Cougar 577 (Brian).

Timekeeper: "These do look like Mondeo's." Brian: "I thought you got a student discount?"

DSCF2467.jpg

Timekeeper: "Student discount?" Cheeky f.....

DSCF2468.jpg

Brian: "Come on car, there's free food down there if you go under 10 seconds,"

DSCF2469.jpg

Brian: "God damn it,"

DSCF2470.jpg

Gav with the car formerly known as V6NOS

Timekeeper: "If you take a left at Stow and a right at Becketts,"

DSCF2471.jpg

Not quite picking up as she should

DSCF2473.jpg

IMRC issues

DSCF2474.jpg

Later improved to 8.75

Ah the reigning champion

Timekeeper: "ten, twenty, thirty....we said 40 and I will say you went under 7 seconds again"

DSCF2475.jpg

Timekeeper: "When he gets to the end, make sure he comes no higher than second

DSCF2476.jpg

Second place

DSCF2478.jpg

Later improved to 7.55 but the only proof was a piece of paper with tippex on it and a squiggle

Moving on to the new boy - localloon (Dave)

Timekeeper: "what the living crap have you got on the back of your car?" Dave: "Well the dodgy geezer who sold me it said it adds 50bhp...he said i could trust him as he's a copper."

DSCF2482.jpg

Home made exhaust and Scooby spoiler......its a combination which can't work

DSCF2484.jpg

Isn't it?

DSCF2485.jpg

Next up - Relfski (Rachel)

Timekeeper: "Ten, twenty, third, fourty......we said fifty and I will make sure you beat that dodgy geezer in that silver Mondeo Coupe who won last year."

DSCF2486.jpg

Poetry in motion?

DSCF2488.jpg

Negativo

DSCF2489.jpg

Has to be said, the timing gear did chuck something of a hissy fit midway through. Rachel did time out, but it seemed strange. She did though later post a 7.79

Moving on to the next fourby - Mark's v6 driven by mo-fo

Timekeeper: "Another 4 x 4 Cougar? John Deere...I don't get it." Iain; "Just shut to f... up and time me you knob, otherwise I will make sure you don't see the light of day again for a long time. I know some people."
DSCF2490.jpg

Not quite as quick as expected?

DSCF2492.jpg

Hopefully Iain didn't destroy the clutch, the brakes....the engine

DSCF2494.jpg

And finally, distinctly lacking a dodgy paint job - John (Everton)'s zetec fourby

Timekeeper: "Who's knicked my watch?" John: "Just because i am a scouser, it doesn't mean I have stolen your watch......your wheels are a different matter though la"

DSCF2495.jpg

John: "Call the old bill, see if i care....this a walk the park

DSCF2498.jpg

The time?
DSCF2499.jpg

Later improved to 10.4, once the newly acquired wheels had been put on and all the day's ill gotten booty had been hidden in the tent

Great pics Si (and Manos of course!) (y)

Kathy got a video of the first run and it looked pedestrian - plugged my OBD reader in today to find some answers for the lack of pace and it came back with a code of "P00 - Driver failure" - so at least that clears that little mystery up :(

Mofo did quite well on behalf of the Mafia 9.67:) with an extra couple of hundred Kgs 20kgs rear diff 180kgs Ians weight differential to my own.:p:p:eek:(y)

I was chuffed the zetec fourby went under 10 seconds Mark....and now i have changed the filter I think there is an extra bit to give too.

Now, how about that turbo?
