Some of you may remember how I was able to diagnose a particularly annoying overheating problem on KRM some time ago, using my Flir Infrared Camera :-


Well, today I was puzzling over how to measure the oil level in my central heating oil tank. The 'Watchman' oil level sensor packed up a while ago and I refuse to shell out for another one at about £100. I do have a home made dipstick ( careful... ) but access is a bit limited at the moment.

I think you will agree that the photo below is quite definitve - job done ! We'll wing it until later in the year and hope the price comes down:-

That's probably why they always look so pale. Not wanting to scare you, but she used to live at Docking, not too far away from you. But don't worry, I was pivotal in persuading her to leave her comfortable life in Norfolk and to head for a small farm in Orkney, where she has been for 30 years. I have often been asked to write a book on how I achieved it !
