Just thought i'd say hello. I've had a few Ford's over the years but this is my 1st Cougar. A 2000 reg silver manual V6. Possibly an x pack as its got leather ? Mechanically its seems OK. Came with a years mot so hopefully not too bad. It does have various electrical problems the same as most Cougar's it seems. Front and rear heated screens don't work. Central locking only works by using the key in the lock. And no oomph beyond 3500 revs so I guess those flaps ain't opening ☺ . apart from that the bodyworks not bad. One rusty patch at the bottom of the drivers front wing and some bubbling on the sills but not broken through the paint yet. hopefully all my question's will be answered when I find my way around the forum.

Thanks in advance for your help

Brett

Forgot to mention its got just under 90000 miles on it so should have plenty left ☺

Thanks everyone. I've only just realised I had replies. I thought I had set this to notify me of any responses but I guess I got it wrong
I do have some photo's. Once I've figured out how to upload them I'll put them on. I hope it doesn't involve using photo bucket as that drives me nuts

To put pic's of your pride and joy on here, you will need a Photobucket (or similar) account. Once you have done this and uploaded your pic's to it, then you just copy the code and paste it into your post (or the post you want to add it into). Hope this helps.

We normally suggest to use photobucket (or an alternative image sharing site), but with this new server we're on, there is plenty of space and bandwidth, so feel free to add them as an attachment. Click on the insert image icon and upload from your pc.

That's good news, as my Photobucket account has been a bit of a pain recently, so will be easier to insert straight from my laptop.

Try imgur instead. It's fast, has massive storage and five nines uptime. It's owned by the same people as reddit.

Hope this works. A handful of photos of my car. Body work seems not bad apart from the odd ding here and there.

It's better than I thought it would be. It was only mot'd a month ago. It had an advisory due to corrosion on the rear suspension frame. No surprises there 😊 and there is some bubbling under the paint at the rear of both sills so I need to catch them before they get any worse.

There is a foam block in each side of the rear sills as a sound deadener. Take your rear door cards off and pull them out asap. The rear sills rots from the inside out. Many people have been caught out by them.

Peter is correct, they do mop and hold moisture and if they are sat on the sill they will cause early rot/corrosion. Better to lift it clear of the sill rather than remove it. It's there to prevent panel bounce, not sound proofing. Lift it to about mid-point and waxoil~ inside the panel while the card is removed.
