Clarkson could have given the Coug a few more beanz, as I don't think he was truly pushing it that hard...or at least thats the way it looks anyway.

Clarkson says on the video that it's the first time anything like that had ever been done. Ayrton Senna and Mclaren did the same thing in '91 with the F1 car, a Porsche and a Civic. Spool forward 1 minute to get to the race;

Oh I don't know, if you You Tube the Top Gear review he did of the Cougar when it first came out (the one where he pitched it against an Alfa GTV) he was pretty complimentary about it then too.

He was. His only criticism was that it was fairly underpowered compared to the Alfa GTV6, Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo and 3.0 V6 Pug 406 Coupe is was directly competing against.
