Well, I've started on the road to repairs and mods hell..... Had the Cougar a few weeks now and I've only recently been able to take her out for a real blast, it turned out that the IMRC was faulty despite my initial pleasure at the power output. After reading through this forum, I was looking for that 'Kick' at 3500rpm I'd heard so much about...it wasn't there :(. Again, with the help of previous posts, I managed to diagnose a blown transistor....replaced transistor this morning and took her out for quick run.....I found the 'Kick' I was looking for:):), pulls like a good 'un (was gonna say a train, but seeing as though I'm a Train Driver...I aint driven any trains like the Cat!)...
While I was freezing my arse off bolting it back together, the Postie turned up with a couple of Jiffy bags...she now has been fitted with a couple of crystal side repeaters and chrome to amber bulbs...much better than the fried eggs on my Frosty V6.
That quick repair job has saved me more than the £18 subscription fee..(y)

Welcome to the asylum!! That's a cracking post and well done on sorting a few issues and managing a couple of mods too. You'll find almost every answer you'll need for the Cougar on here somewhere :) Enjoy the car!

Aye there's nothing like the satisfaction of solving a niggling problem 'DIY' - enjoy the ride and welcome to our humble abode ;)
