My 2nd best mate passed today, albeit with a few advisories.......
2 front tyres just on limit due to wear on edges
Slight play on offside wishbone
and the usual slight corrosion on a brakepipe.
I've sourced an alloy with a virtually new 225/50/16 from ebay and the brakepipe I can clean up. I'm on the lookout for another or I'll bite the bullet and put a new one on it from Kwikfit or similar.
Is it worth hunting round for wishbones as the price for 2 plus fitting will almost meet the market value of the car or shall I just run it for a year or less then break it? Engine wise it's great and the handling is still what I'd expect. There's no body rust and it looks good apart from the laquer that I need to sort out soon. Haven't got the urge to spend loads on the car but have become attached to it.
If I kept it then I'd go silly and renew the shocks and rubbers etc but with not a lot of spare cash and an eagle eyed wife I need to be careful.
Anyone in a similar boat out there?
Still a pass is a pass so I'm happy.
Cheers
