Hi my ebay purchase went way south due to lies in description, however closer to home i find this slight modded cat and I am going to view, the owner claims to be an X member here so any info would be great lads.

That's is Pauldf1971's car - he was a moderator on here until a few months ago. Top bloke and - as far as I could tell - looked after his cats very well and did a lot of his own work on them.

You will obviously need to check it out thoroughly for yourself but I personally would have no qualms about buying that car off him (y)

I spoke to Paul on the phone last night, he explained various things done to the car over his 4yr ownership and I did get the impression he knew his stuff so maybe this is it ;)
 
Paul's a great bloke and really cared for his Cat, you should be able to find some of the threads he posted detailing the work he carried out on his car.
 
Yip I am or rather my wife is the new owner, I do have some technical issues unfortunately but hopefully nothing that can't be ironed out.... Can I quiz you lads here or must I go to another thread?
 
Well my friend ;) the car is good goes like stink as you would expect but at 70mph the traction control kicks in and there is a slight rattle through the steering column. any help would be appreciated.
all credit to Paul all she needs is a damn good cut and polish and she's gleaming ;)
 
Check the reluctor rings for corrosion the the sensor can missread these at speed if they are corroded
The traction control and ABS read from these toothed rings. they are located on the outer drive shafts.
 
Cheers will do this in morning if dry, Paul not been using car for a while so this sounds like a possibility.
 
yep sold blah blah blah lol
i forgot when i renewed the back tyres i kicked them up a wall size,so when the fronts are replaced tam that will cure the problem(this was to keep the rolling radius the same as the original spec)
 
yip i'll keep it off for m/way driving till tyres done. new prob now tho the weld broke on your Y piece repair :(
anyone know where I can get a cheap Y piece?
 
Not Pauls any more its mine..... and off road all ready, awaiting 75mm flange gasket and praying my weld lasts longer than pauls :/
now to start saving for a full stainless system :D
