Autoworld, West Midlands

This is the only detailed review(there is also a '5 star' review but without details) on Google:

I bought a used car from this dealership in August 2013. They hid the MOT recommendations identified in February (six months before I bought the car), only passing them to me after the car was fully paid for and as I was walking out the door with the keys, tucked behind the receipt. On independent inspection, the brakes and a tyre were below minimum standards, meaning they let me drive off their forecourt in a car they knew was not roadworthy and which cost me £300 to put right. They would not respond when I queried their deception. In addition, thirty seconds after I left Autoworld, the fuel light came on; they could not be bothered to put a few litres in the tank even though they knew I had a 50 mile drive home. They also give a very hard sell to unnecessary insurances and warranties. I made the mistake of accepting an extended warranty and then had to chase them for a week before they would acknowledge my refund request which is still being processed. I would never recommend this place; the salespeople are untrustworthy and there is no after-sales care. This is classic 'Buyer Beware' territory.

Thanks Quicksilver. I'm buying a Ford Focus that has just come up for it's first MOT so hopefully it should pass without any problems. o_O I'm putting my Cougar in for part ex so if anyone is looking for a Cougar then I would contact Autoworld to find out where it will be auctioned.

Possibly. But I have dealt with bad companies before and a google search would normally come back with loads of results slagging the place off. As quicksilver stated there was one 5 star review also. I was looking for anyone with actual experience of the dealership.

what i would say about internet reviews is beware of them

Even the best companies have disillusioned customers, and it tends to be those who will take the time to write a review, yet the 18234 people who have had a great experience don't necessarily feel strong enough to take to the web.

Not saying ignore the review, just don't take it as gospel
