Well, after a couple of years in storage W794TCE is back on the road again :) she's hardly moved a wheel in that time yet fired up on the button and sat running sweet as a nut.

After a quick advisory free MOT i'm chasing down motorway miles once more! I also have some much needed indoor storage for her now so I can get around all the niggling jobs that i've been putting off (starting with squeaky drive belt idler). I know i'm biased, but getting out of my modern Citroen DS3 and getting back into the Cougar.. there's no comparison. The DS seems dead to drive, whereas the Cougar responds to the road and tells me what it's doing back through the steering.

I'll be looking to rejoin the club again as my membership expired while i've been out of the country. Looking forward to getting some jobs sorted and driving her every day once more! Might even treat her to a stainless exhaust system ;)

Don't see why not! Very keen on the idea of fitting a stainless steel exhaust system sometime in the new year. I seem to remember a while ago the club did a group raid on MIJ exhausts, is this still the place to go?

Would love to get to some events in the new year! Mine's by no means a concours example.. quite the opposite. It's a labour of love to keep the old girl going, makes zero sense financially but I don't care :)

no Chris, like you he had a silver zetec then saw the light and brought a Duratec

Thanks - I misread.

Congrats on getting the correct number of cylinders; I've been there too. If you need to talk about it, we're here. It's really hard to realise that you have the wrong engine and then discover the correct one.
