Battery for V6 Xpack

My mechanic is advising that I replace the current 075 battery with an 096 battery. He reckons it will be better for starting the car, especially in the cold, as it will provide more amps.

Can anyone please comment on this advise?

iirc the 096 is a standard one for cougar, it may well be that someone in the past has put a lower amp/cheaper battery

This came up on another recent thread. 096 is what the Cougar should have anyway.
I think it mentioned that some parts data incorrectly lists the Cougar as needing a 075.

Most places list the 075 but the mongy takes the 096, Dyg has one on his, and yes gives you a bit more oomph starting and lasts longer without running the engine

Mine has an 096 fitted, plenty of oomph and less volt drop
