Have not been on the forum much since I sold my blue Cougar V6 in 2008 but I still like the car and would probably get another had we not had an extra small person arrive, making 5 (which is why I had to sell it).

Here is a link to photos of my car when it was in its prime: http://cougardb.com/t1mjf/8171

Anyway I was looking on Ebay to see if there were any cheap Cougars around and came across this and it made me laugh ...

It looks fantastic on the outside but it just made me laugh to see the Cougar interior and I was very impressed with engine conversion until I realised it was a PRETEND engine!!

Apologies if:
a) this has already been posted (I did search for Ferrari and it didn't appear to come up)
b) the owner is a member (sorry, but what car, other than a toy, has a pretend engine?)

Hello!! Indeed a while since you were on :) The Ferrari conversions are actually quite good. If you see their website, the cars undergo some major works to get to that stage. They do make a full Ferrari dash to go in with seats etc too so you can have almost all the look.

You don't know me as I joined after you left, but welcome back Tim - that was a nice-looking blurple.

Steve, if anyone's trolling, it's the person who thinks they're going to get £22K for a Cougar with a body kit. Even if it is an extensive one. I'll add that the standard interior and plastic fake engine ("fake wires, gaskets, fuel rails and other bits were added to give it a good chance of looking like an engine") made me chuckle too.

As I've said before, I'll never criticise people's creativity and hard work even if I think it's a bit silly and a waste of money. But one thing I will say about it though: have you noticed that nowhere in the advert does he say what the engine in it is? No mention of it all, not any clues as to what it might be, such as the mention of a cambelt change. You just know it's a Zetec.

Before anyone gets upset, I'm just saying that that's not the motor I'd choose if I wanted it to sound like (at least 60% of) a Ferrari.

Thanks for the replies - no, I wasn't 'trolling' - I was just surprised to see that someone had converted a Cougar as I had never heard of it before. I was a reasonably active member when I had the car - attended a few events (in fact I think my car pics were taken at a meet at the Aquadrome in Northampton) - I never saw anything like this back then and assumed it was a one-off. As I said I think the externals of the car look great, but having pretend parts just makes a complete joke of what otherwise would have been really quite good.

Oh lord. If you think that's bad, you really don't want to Google Veyron+Cougar then.
