Well I thought I would try to build something this evening. Here is my effort so far...........

As you can see it is the first stage of my build. It is going to sit in the gap on the left hand side of the boot when finished. It will have my 10" Kenwood sub in it.

Now I am no carpenter, and I am not an expert with making things but I just hope it turns out ok. I have sealed it on the inside and outside and I am waiting for it to dry.

My next stage is to use fibreglass and finish off all the joints so they are sealed 100% and smooth.

Then I will cut the hole for the sub and carpet the whole thing. I got some acoustic stuff on its way to me and some spray glue.

With any luck it should sound ok and not fall apart lol !!!

Looking good mate....

Reminds me of my first install.

That is a very nice install. Mine will look nothing like that I am afraid as my skill levels are nothing like the standard of that install. My goal is to retain my 10" Kenwood sub as well as my twin 12" vibes + I need to be able to pull it all out as well.

Well I got the hole cut out now and I have used more Fibreglass resin on the inside of the box to help seal it up even more and to add strength as well. I just need to decide if I am going to cut another hole for a port or leave it sealed. I am unsure about porting it because there is not that much space to do it and the port might get in the way of the sub. Still got to sort out the speaker terminals and cut a hole of that as well yet but should get all this done by the end of Sunday. I will post some more pics of my progress as it happens.

What's the cuft of the box Peter looks way to small to be ported looks small for sealed tbh what does the sub require most tens need around 1.2cuft sealed.

TBH I don't know. I used Alan's measurements for the toolbox he made and made it taller. My old Kenwood ported box is twice the size as the one I have made but it is the old skool one with the blue sides and I think it was to big for the sub anyhow.
The Kenwood sub is 200W RMS 800W Peak if that helps.
I think I am going to leave it as it is. I just wanted to retain the sub in my boot. Me building a box was never ment to be perfect for my sub, I am not after a perfect sound from it. As long as I can hear it then all is good lol !!!

Pack it out with some 16oz fibre fill and leave it sealed should do you ok, it is far to small to port.

Hole cut, well the best I could do with my jigsaw seen as it does not have a scroll feature...............
