Big turn around

Brakes are easily doable yourself, you'll probably need a big lump hammer to remove the old discs though, dogsbody has offered local help and if you want to learn you'll have a good instructor!

Have a look on YouTube and you'll see it's not difficult at all.

Some garages won't be receptive to fitting parts you've supplied as there just isn't as much profit in it for them.

A caliper rewind tool costing about £20 helps, but a big flat screwdriver works too. Changing brakes is the next level of complexity above changing a light bulb on a car. You should accept an offer of help to guide/supervise/keep you right/put your mind at ease though.

If you get the parts and offer some bacon butties, Someone near will answer your call for help.:) If you were closer I would offer.

I believe Kwik Fit are offering Air Con re-gas for £30 including leak test. Best bit? If there's a leak, there's no charge! You'd at least know the where the fault is.

Everything else as above!

And they will refill for free if you have a fault that they didn't detect. It's pretty much a no-lose situation.

Note that they use a marker dye so if you do have a pinhole leak, you'll find it.

Seems an awful lot for aircon: I think I paid something like £25 for a new condenser off Ebay, fitted for another £50 by my local (in Devon) garage who also did a full pressure test and re-gas for a further £40.
