Blue's cool..........but White's alright.............

Some of you know my escapades from the other night when the roof of Pidcave tried to part company with the rafters. This is the reason i was in there. I've had the blue led lighting for quite some time, and i decided to go retro, mainly after some discussion with jj when we were trying to come up with something a little bit different for "Bogey". I remembered the old Ford backlighting in plain old fashioned white. As far as i am aware, jj was the first to receive this conversion, i've also done another set which is reserved for another member. I had a spare couple of minutes one day last week, so i converted a set for myself :eek: (joke: it really takes more than a couple of minutes):LOL:.
I've also gone back to the black facia as my old eyes struggle to see the contrast between the silver facia and the symbols on the HVAC. White against black is much easier on my eyes.

Tbh, i didn't know weather to put this in here or the modifications section but i'll add a couple more piccies tomorrow as the photos i attempted tonight arent much cop.
 
Looking good Al, but unsure to what the 'weather' has got to do with it???? LOL!!!!!!

That looks right smart Al, I know you've got el-glow dials but I reckon a set of white backlit lockwoods would look stunning and complete the retro look. (y)
 
Standard dials can be turned white John ;) that's how Al did mine ill take a pic of all mine later looks very crisp and modern.

It's getting some consideration as to what to do with the clocks binnacle lighting. Whatever changes, it'll have to be.....................erm.......................:cool:
 
The clocks are already blue as Nick fitted white Lockwood dials with blue backlights - the only bits left once the dash parts are done are the trip/odometer digital screens which are still green

If you can get the dials out, the digi displays are easier to do than you might think. Just need to be careful not to break the glass display :eek:
 
I finally got around to sorting the headlight switch today. With all that chrisp white led everywhere, the white symbols on the headlight switch were looking decidedly yellow in comparison. See the difference between the bulb lit switch and the converted mirror switches:
I also cured the "bleeding" at the bottom half of the backplate.

A noob question maybe, but I see your illumination adjustment (next to headlight adjustment) is lit up, mine has never lit up, do I have a bulb gone or is that something you have added ?
Also my mirror adjustment knob on the drivers door has never lit up either, but it looks like it isn't on your last shot so maybe that's not meant to be lit (or it's just out of shot) ?

You have to run an earth from the back of the dimmer switch as fraud never bothered to fit it in the factory and your right the mirror adjuster doesn't light up
