Hi everyone. Complete and utter newbie to the world of a full body kit. As much help as possible would be greatly appreciated guys. I'll just ask my questions simply.

- Where can I buy a cougar kit in UK? (As I was quoted for delivery from andysautosport website and it was over $1400 just for delivery 😦

- What is the average good price for someone to spray and fit one?

- Anyone know best/cheapest place for a kit to be sprayed and fitted close to me? I'm in Doncaster

My advise to you even before you think about fitting a kit is to sort out the sills on the car both outside and inside of them. I can say without question they will need attention due to the age of the car unless it has lived it whole life in a garage with very very low miles. There are foam blocks on the inner sills that collect moisture and cause the sills to rot from the inside out. Get the rear panels off and remove them from both sides first and have a good look at the inner sills. You do not want to spend serious money on a kit and having it fitted only to find out 12 months later both sills are rotten. Also be totally honest with yourself as well when checking them. A lot of owners have found out way to late to sometimes even save the car because of this happening.
Good luck.

I may be being naive here but I honestly thought for a body kit and for it spraying and fitting (all in) it would only cost around £800-£900

When I had my car done it cost me £2300 but I had my whole car resprayed. Having the kit fitted will be the biggest cost due to these kits not really "just fitting" straight onto the car. It will need prep work doing to it before it can be made to fit the car.
You really need to have a very good look at your sills before you even think about fitting side-skirts or you might be wasting your money and time doing this. Get the car right first so you have a good base to work from. Trust me, most of these cars either have had work done on the sills or will need it doing very soon.

As Peter says, a lot of the money for something like this comes from the labour of prep. I'd budget for at least £1500 and take it as a bonus if you're under.

I've fitted and painted a few kits over the years and every one i've tackled has been a pita to fit with the exception of the ROUSH kit which drops into place perfectly. The chances of finding that kit is very slim though these days. Before i tackled the job myself, i was quoted around £300 to spray and fit the kit but that was a few years back and i knew the bodyshop. I've fitted/removed and re-fitted it to a different car since. Don't rush in to anything, take your time to find a good kit but before doing anything at all, take the guys advice and get those sills checked out thoroughly. They may look fine from outside but you really need to get the rear panels out and delve in.

Just what is involved opening up the sills to look inside, remove foam and treat with rust kill/wax oill etc, do the ends come off easy or is it a cut and reweld job ?, mine show no signs of rust on the out side but have been thinking about treating them inside.

Remove the rear door cards. Underneath there's triangular shaped plastic panel which you can remove and then you can look inside.
You can remove the speakers too.
Get your phone or a small camera inside to try and see parts you can't see with your own eyes, or even better, get hold of an endoscope camera which can look along the sills under the doors.
Get your hand in and have a feel of the areas you can't see as well.

Anything crumbly will need treating.

I have sanded this back to clean metal and Zinc primed as in last pic, Clean metal???? there is a load more there I would have cut out before saying it was clean metal  way to many flakey bits

Incidentally I offered the guy a tenner for this car before someone bid on it
