I think Racing Blue on the calipers with a Silver "Racing" graphic running down them would have looked awesome behind them OZ's.
!
That truly was a painstaking restoration![]()
Painstaking? They must be THE best condition calipers in the land. The amount of wire brushing and filing that went into them I surprised there was any metal left![]()
Great job well done lads. Lots of hard work undertaken and I'm sure lots of laughter, swearing and dirty jokes - my kind of weekend!! LOL Brakes look great Manos, sure they'll be good once bedded in. I'm still not happy with my Brembo disc's and Mintex pads (with Goodridge braided hoses). Still have very soft pedal and have to use gears to slow before corners. I still can't do an emergency stop, it just won't do it, well certainly not at speed. I can do it at about 10mph, but anything over that, then forget it. Maybe I ought to think about your set up Manos and follow suit???
@tim also clean up where the vacum pipe goes into the uim,i did that when i had mines and it was coked up to the hilt,i also had the throttle body off and cleaned the 2 channels on the uim where the throttle body mates to it as it was choked.when done it made a major improvment
Tim, did you change the fluid and flush through when you did your brakes mate?? as it sounds like you may need that, as if your not stopping that well on that set up there is a problem..![]()
Tim, do a search for my how to on setting the rear brakes, if its not done properly, you'll only be using the fronts!!!!
