Busy weekend ;-)

I think Racing Blue on the calipers with a Silver "Racing" graphic running down them would have looked awesome behind them OZ's.

!

I like the sound of that :)

That truly was a painstaking restoration

Painstaking? They must be THE best condition calipers in the land. The amount of wire brushing and filing that went into them I surprised there was any metal left

Painstaking indeed! I spent most of that day sheltering close by Manos while he was doing his best to wear the wire bristles away. :)

Great job well done lads. Lots of hard work undertaken and I'm sure lots of laughter, swearing and dirty jokes - my kind of weekend!! LOL Brakes look great Manos, sure they'll be good once bedded in. I'm still not happy with my Brembo disc's and Mintex pads (with Goodridge braided hoses). Still have very soft pedal and have to use gears to slow before corners. I still can't do an emergency stop, it just won't do it, well certainly not at speed. I can do it at about 10mph, but anything over that, then forget it. Maybe I ought to think about your set up Manos and follow suit???

Tim, did you change the fluid and flush through when you did your brakes mate?? as it sounds like you may need that, as if your not stopping that well on that set up there is a problem.. :geek:

@tim also clean up where the vacum pipe goes into the uim,i did that when i had mines and it was coked up to the hilt,i also had the throttle body off and cleaned the 2 channels on the uim where the throttle body mates to it as it was choked.when done it made a major improvment

When Tim came over recently i checked all that for him, his TB was spotless inside, and the UIM and bellows too... :) I cleaned his MAF which solved his running problem...

Ohhh that channel, I don't think it would have been quite as bad on Tims car anyway as he does not have a EGR valve, but i know what you mean, i did look through the flap in the TB and it's shiny spotless in there... But still could be worth checking as you say..:)

Hi Add, yes, the brake fluid has been changed twice by my garage and flushed too. Calipers have been off and checked as well as the brake pads and disc's. All was well, but when me and my mechanic took it for a spin, still wouldn't stop, very soft pedal?? My mechanic is puzzled by it, as says it should all work ok. Think Paul maybe right in pulling the TB off along with the gasket and check in behind and clear out any crud that has built up.

Manos/TC - apologies for hijacking the thread.

Got quite high on those pictures lol. amazing job on the breaks guys, and i see the headers that Tony won! i was one of the watcher on that item lol.
Iv said it so many times, you guys are truly amazing lovely people!

Tim, do a search for my how to on setting the rear brakes, if its not done properly, you'll only be using the fronts!!!!

Thanks TC, will have a look at that. I hope they've been done properly as I had my mechanic sort them, as I don't like playing with brakes, as had a bad experience once...lol
