Some of you may have noticed that I've not been around for some time......and some of you will just be asking yourselves "Who the hell is this?" Work and college have been conspiring together to limit my free time to eating, sleeping, and, erm, 'quality time' with my girlfriend
Coog too has suffered, as with uni looming, the prospect of a year on a part time wage, then two years scraping whatever I can from placements and bursaries has forced me to save as much cash as I can for the last two years. So, Coog is still sat in the garage, where he has been for the last year and a half, waiting for his Focus ST225 engine. That said, the thought of sitting starving in a cardboard box on the side of the road, but with a Cougar ST Turbo parked alongside did cross my mind once or twice.
One good bit of news however is that the little Nissan I've been bazzing about in has been replaced with a black Chrysler PT Cruiser, thanks to a deal made with a family member. It's a bit more 'me' and the neighbours have already christened it The Hearse.
So, Coog will be going onto pastures new, either to be broken to keep other Cougars on the road a bit longer, or (as I'd rather) a project for someone to get him back on the road and get more enjoyment from him. I'm really going to miss driving him, but all good things must come to an end.
I've made some good friends thanks to that car, some are sadly no longer with us, and I've got some great memories. Mini Mofo's excursion across a field in Northampton on a TopCat powered air bed, the odd mini-meets we achieved at Durham Services (we had 6 there one month, 6!), the convoys down to 'Fest, freezing our danglies off at Blackpool All Ford meet, driving back-and-forth through the Tyne Tunnel with the windows down to hear the exhaust note until I ran out of change for the toll, touring Scotland with Shorty and meeting up with D1CKL on the way. The list goes on.
So it's bye for now, but who knows, one day when I'm earning a wage again I'll most likely be found browsing Autotrader again.......
