Some of you may have noticed that I've not been around for some time......and some of you will just be asking yourselves "Who the hell is this?" Work and college have been conspiring together to limit my free time to eating, sleeping, and, erm, 'quality time' with my girlfriend (y)

Coog too has suffered, as with uni looming, the prospect of a year on a part time wage, then two years scraping whatever I can from placements and bursaries has forced me to save as much cash as I can for the last two years. So, Coog is still sat in the garage, where he has been for the last year and a half, waiting for his Focus ST225 engine. That said, the thought of sitting starving in a cardboard box on the side of the road, but with a Cougar ST Turbo parked alongside did cross my mind once or twice.

One good bit of news however is that the little Nissan I've been bazzing about in has been replaced with a black Chrysler PT Cruiser, thanks to a deal made with a family member. It's a bit more 'me' and the neighbours have already christened it The Hearse.

So, Coog will be going onto pastures new, either to be broken to keep other Cougars on the road a bit longer, or (as I'd rather) a project for someone to get him back on the road and get more enjoyment from him. I'm really going to miss driving him, but all good things must come to an end.

I've made some good friends thanks to that car, some are sadly no longer with us, and I've got some great memories. Mini Mofo's excursion across a field in Northampton on a TopCat powered air bed, the odd mini-meets we achieved at Durham Services (we had 6 there one month, 6!), the convoys down to 'Fest, freezing our danglies off at Blackpool All Ford meet, driving back-and-forth through the Tyne Tunnel with the windows down to hear the exhaust note until I ran out of change for the toll, touring Scotland with Shorty and meeting up with D1CKL on the way. The list goes on.

So it's bye for now, but who knows, one day when I'm earning a wage again I'll most likely be found browsing Autotrader again.......

No need to be a stranger Paul! I am Cougarless and a poor student too!! We can have our own corner lol!! Apparently it'll all be worth it in the end!

You and I have to stay in touch anyhow, you're gonna be my money man when I graduate and become the greatest freelance fabricator there is

Sorry to hear you are having to let the Cougar go Paul, but, who knows what the future holds for us. If you are ever back up my way, just give me a call and we can meet up somewhere. Best of luck with your future plans and as said previously, don't be a stranger.

Sorry to hear you are sellin up! but these things happen,im in my van more than i like, and just scrapin by!
Wish you all the best for the path you choose, bound to meet up again!
ps did your coog have a rear spoiler? if so can i have first refusal?
take care, topman nice to know you. Geoff.

There's a lot of it about Paul, times are hard in some areas but i do hope things pick up for you sooner rather than later. It's always a sad day when guys such as yourself announce they are moving on for whatever reasons, but needs must be in these circumstances. Anyone who was at Blackpool that first time will nevr forget it, i'm sure. Don't be a stranger here though, it's always a pleasure to chat.

Cheers lads (y)

It's mainly planning for the future just now, Al. I'm in a fortunate position at the moment with being on a decent wage where I can save some cash for the next few years, but literally every penny I've earned over the last 18 months once the bills are covered has gone into savings, except for a holiday earlier this year. The time will soon come where I have to leave my job and concentrate fully on uni and I can't see the folks being too thrilled about having a forty year old student living back at home with them

Geoff, if I do end up having to break Coog, your name is on the spoiler.

Know the feeling well Paul, my own cat sits forlorn while I race around in a beat up old fiesta encore, but times are hard and I've made my bed so I'll lie in it (and all the other cliches) but yeah, stick around dude, the club is so much more than a cougar owners club these days, its a family forum.....its a family full stop.

Who are you anyway?? ;)

Yeah no need to be a stranger - the Cougar to non-Cougar ratio is getting smaller and smaller here these days :)

As already said Paul, pop in for a chat don't be a stranger, and as mentioned above this is not so much a cougar club any more, it's more like aGroupOfFriendsWithCarInterests.com (y)
