C2 tailgate badge

I've only ever seen one Cougar with the Cougar C2 rear chrome badge.
What is the history of this spec?

I'm not sure that there was ever such a thing as a standard C2 that had that badge though.

They are very, very difficult to get hold of as Manos will attest to.
