'Carry On Camping' - Not 'Fest 2013.

What a cracking weekend, even if I spent most of it melting in the heat

First and foremost, have to say a huge thanks to Andy for pulling this year's event back from the brink and organising it all. It was a great pitch this year with plenty of room for everyone to pitch their tents together. We had a great time as usual and also as usual, everyone more than willing to help out and share cooking facilities etc. Bravo Andy (y)

On the downside, I got eaten alive by Mosquitos last night - Kathy has just given me an antihistamine to help with the damn itching

Oh, and JJ would be proud that his little 8" DC Audio sub got me an ASBO on Friday evening too

Will sort out the pics soon and post them up. Hope everyone had a safe journey home :)

Can only agree with everything John says regarding the weekend apart from the heat, it was great to finally spend some relaxing time in glorious sunshine. My drive home was OK. Took me just over 6 hours and the traffic was fine until I hit the Edinburgh Bypass. Big thanks to Andy once again for resurrecting this weekend camping trip. It was really good to see so many families there and rightly so . As has been said on numerous occasions, ukcougar.org is more like a family than a car forum, so, it is only right that Fest or not Fest should be family oriented as well.

As above, a great weekend brought back from the brink by Andy (Quicksilver) flawlessly organised. It was good to see everyone having a good time, i enjoyed watching the drinks going down everybody elses necks . The sun was firing on all six, full time and speaking for myself, it was hard work finding the shade, so even a seat in the mozzy ridden gents was a haven for ten or twenty minutes, now there's desperation! :giggle:. In my memory of previous fests, this years was the most family orientated, as Dick said already, and it was great to see all the kids getting on so well with each other. Finally got to see Theo, son of Manos and Mo . We arrived home at just after 2.30pm after stopping at Leicester Forest East services to fix a squeak in the boot that had been doing my head in all the way up the M1, ten minutes later we were off again, minus the squeak. No idea what it was, but the punch must have fixed it .
Reminder: The Gazebo crew need some training .
Roll on next "Not Fest" (y)

In a nutshell, was a great weekend! Got to see people new and old, be really ill lol and in general have a little chill out. Thanks to everyone that came but more importantly, a huge mahoosive thanks to Andy who without, this weekend wouldn't have happened! ;) Top job! (y)

P.S. just have to add, the Alan & Vonny Shadow show was priceless! Far superior to those Hungarians that won BGT this year. That was entertainment at its best!

You missed a good show last night Kully :)

Thx(y)

As all have said above; a cracking weekend with a cracking group of people! Sure the heat was pretty much unbearable but that didn't stop myself and Barbora having a great time. Thanks to Andy for his stirling efforts in making the whole thing happen, much appreciated. (y)

It was great to meet up with those we know and those we now know, great characters every one, you all made the weekend what it was! Apologies to anyone who was sick of being pestered by Charlie for a fuss; he's a bit of a creep. :D

For our part we had a good run home, no major incidents or slow-downs; the journey flew by as we nattered about all that had gone on. Happy days. :)

We'll be at the next one, be it a Fest or a Not Fest, and look forward to seeing you there.

Charlie was quick to make a name for himself! He must have seen young Dan and thought "16's legal!" Lmfao

Thank you!

A huge 'thank you' to everyone who made this year's 'Fest what it was; a great weekend spent in great company.

Although Steve, for the loan of his BBQ, and Dar for the generous donation of the gazebo electricity sockets, deserve a special mention it is truly down to all the folks who took the time and made the effort to travel from the four corners of the country to help maintain the tradition that is CougarFest. Here's to 2014.
