Cat4 x 4 - let the modding commence

Just Monroe shocks.

Aesthetically..it needs lowering...but for practical winter driving reasons its staying as it is

If I've not stranded mine Si I very much doubt you'd beach a 4x4 even lowered as much as mine especially with my unfavourable weight distribution.

I managed to (almost) beach Gill's AWD standard ride height X-Type last winter. To be fair though I was trying to park with 2 wheels on the kerb and someone had plowed the road into the gutter then someone else had plowed the pavement onto the snow already piled up in the gutter. I was asking for it really

My 2WD lowered Cougar was fine in the snow, providing I didn't attempt anything stupid like the above!

Lol exactly my point Jamie! Driving to suit the conditions and allowing for the fact I had less that 3" clearance and I never got tango stuck driving suitably.

I reckon I may have wasted your time a touch....I ordered the front ones directly from Monroe....the rears ...which are mondeo mk2 ones....were from another member

Just had a tinker with cat4 today.

C2 dash parts finally sourced...a bit of engine bay bling and us grill

Well, my chrome wheels have started to tarnish slightly, and with predicted poor weather I have decided to put oem wheels back on for a few months.

Looks a little strange

yeah, they are coated in the stuff mate. The tarnishing isn't too bad....but especially with poor weather predicted I have taken them off until March/April time. May as well, these c2 wheels have 7mm of tread on em :)

While they are off I will give the 18's a really good clean and wax.

What's the best way of 'untarnishing' chrome, or am i 'stuck' with the bits i have?

I washed mine literally daily and they always had a coat of wheel wax every week and they still went Si and they were triple plated chrome.

i was warned prior to putting them on the car that it could happen. Still, they are safely tucked away now for the show season.

I did buy Phil's old 18's to put them on as a make weight, but the purchase of this c2 next week means they have to go....something Phil is aware of before the snipers pipe up.
