Well, as most of you know that with cat2 having met a less than gracious demise:cool: I bought another unique Cougar - coming out of Mafia HQ.
This one being one of only 4 known 4 x 4 Cougars - one is the concept car in the states, and the other three's origins are from Back Escrick Street in Trotterville(y)
The car came to me in fantastic nick.... truly a pleasure to drive.:D

So a huge thanks (again) to Nick and Mark for a job superbly done.

But...the modding bug as always takes over.:geek:

So what i have done to her so far?

Well, I loved the big bore very noisy exhaust but the mrs was not a fan, so Mr Mastercard  helped us tinker with that.
I would have gone for a twin exit but the 4x4 gear means that set up would have actually restricted the car.
This set up assists the ss 4-2-1 manifold that the Mafia uprated the car with.

From the dead black cat i bought, i have pinched the c2 leather interior (door cards to follow), and thanks to Mart i have a carbon fibre OHC.

I could have posted up picks sooner, but having spent a couple of hours this morning clay barring her and giving her a good spit and polish...the time is right

Still to go, new scuff plates, boot badge and I will get around to putting the 4x4 badges on too.

On top of that I will soon have a front strut brace and removable rear brace.

This thing sticks to the roads like glue as it is.....that will be interesting.

Now this car is a zetec and not as quick as cat3, but I was surprised with the performance.

You do lose some go with the 4 x 4 system, but I think I have more than over come that with the mods so far. It feels quite torquey and in the corners it is so much better than anything i have ever driven.

I have the OEM one Al, but the one there kinda goes with the dials.

It has grown on me, but you are right - once a suitable replacement is found that could be a gonna...we shall see

ha bloody ha

Got the issues with the engine on the silver one sorted as well mate.

You know that rattle that concerned you? Loose spark plug!

I actually really enjoy cleaning the car.....i would love to learn to detail properly.

I am pleased with how she has come out though. Cat3 got the royal treatment the other day...it was cat4's turn today but with her being black by the end of the day it will probably all need doing again lol

Good, at least it was something cheap to sort as well!

Detailing is a very easy way to blow a day! A basic exterior detail for me is normally 8 hours!

Does look good though - Old Escort...

i don't care about blowing a day mate. I got this result from 2 hours (maybe a little less) so I am more than willing to put the hours in.

Mechanics is not my forte, but i seem to be okay at this

as for cat3

Very nice Si, sad to see a C2 driver switch over to all C1's but i guess needs must and you have a really nice couple of cats there. If I had anything I would do, the only thing would be a spoiler and some black cat window tints for the rear passenger windows. Just a thought :D

Chris - I did get some window tints but royally ballsed them up :-(
Spoiler is on the ultimate agenda, but it will have to wait a few months to be afforded unless something silly cheap comes up.

I am not anti-c2 Chris, far from it.

Its just the way things have worked out.

That said, I love the look of the c1 far more than I thought i would.

Steve - cat3 will be coming to Ford Fair as cat4x4 would never keep up with the v6's off the block......unless its wet, or if we introduce a few corners. The only cat i know of that would be better in the corners would be Mark's

Si, that is one lovely Ebony - it's looking sweet mate, can't wait to here it too! - Get a vid posted up.

Wish I knew how to Tim lol. The exhaust gets the noise just right. It's quiet around town and on the motorway but if you give it the beans it has a lovely note to it. The 4 pot is a very revy engine bug like it

Looking good Si - ebonies certainly do buff up well don't they. You should have kept the Momo steering wheel mate - then the gear stick wouldn't look so out of place. As for the below

...........MAYBE you would edge it in the wet - but on a nice dry twisty track I'd have you any day - bring her to Silverstone and I'll show you ( if Mark ever finishes the rebuild that is) :devilish:
