On Christmas eve i had to go into wprk for a few hours, and after the torential storm we had in the south east over night it was a bit of a task... any hoo, tried my normal route, no go tree down blocking the road.

So tried an alternative and the road was flooded which looked "not too deep" any way i watched a couple of 4x4's go through and sat there contemplating, i had a couple of cars behind me by this time, so with heart very much in mouth went for it..... 1st gear, high revs and slow speed, "frosty" wasn't quite so confident but she aquited herself admirably and got through the torrent even though the water which looked "not too deep" came up over the bonnet i later heard on the radio that a couple of cars had been marooned in the very same spot

Unfortunetly my fog lamps didn't fair too well and were full of water, so they are now apart and residing in the airing cupboard to dry out



I know one thing Frosty won't be forging any more flooded roads thats for certain!! i think we had a pretty lucky escape.

I remember doing a similar thing in my previous car in Newport Pagnell, once you're committed there's no turning back! Definitely worrying when it starts to wash over your bonnet as you say!

If the water was that high then you are very lucky you didnt drown her

Think I remember something similar in my cat the bow wave splashed over the roof I hit the puddle so quick
