Changing c1 for c2

I'm looking at changing my c1 steering wheel for a c2 one. The question is are there any problems

No; as long as you have the correct T30 long reach bit and a good dose of strength to crack the, usually, very tight airbag retaining bolts.
Always a good idea to disconnect the battery before messing with anything airbag related.

Cheers, so wont have to worry about the airbag plug being different then?

If memory serves me right you will need a c2 clock spring as well due to different connections

I thought the c2 had the small 90 degree yellow connector

Agreed. When I changed my C1 wheel for a C2, I made sure to get the C2 clockspring with it, as I'd read it was an essential part of the swap. I even went as far as buying a spare C2 clockspring before I started in case I somehow managed to break one. However, when I removed the C1 wheel and clockspring and closely examined it, I found all three to be identical, right down to the part number.

That depends on the age of the C1; the earlier ones have a different plug layout. The problem is pretty easily curable though.

I have a 2000 c1 and a 2001 c2.

Honestly, you won't know until you check the looms. I'm hoping my 2001 C2 has the early type to suit my late C2 seats with the early C1 looms , Confused?.....

Don't talk to me about looms for seats, I have a full set of leather seats which won't fit my car, as I have a totally different loom in my coug than what's on the leather seats.

Well i have 2 plugs in the c2 and 3 in the c1 so don't think i can be bothered with the hassle.
