Look what dropped through my letterbox today.
Not as easy reading as Haynes, but still has all the important stuff.

I need every little bit of help I can get when it comes to fixing cars.
It's good to know how to pull things apart without breaking.
Putting them back together helps too....

Can I offer a piece of advice?

It's great that you bought the manual - even the Mk1 Mondeo Haynes is useful at times (don't judge me). But they tend to give you a test-bench view of the world, and even then it's not always very clear. Their photographer needs to upgrade from his Tomy MyFirstCamera for a start.

Anyway, if you're planning on tackling anything large or potentially complex, talk to us. That's part of what we're here for and it's a good part of what you're paying to be here for. There are hundreds of years' worth of experience in this club (Mark makes up maybe 50% of them of course) and we know all of the tricks and safe shortcuts to getting the job done - not the procedures that let Ford charge big dolla when you roll into their garages.

We're here for you, so never forget that. As Pid likely told you when you first joined, collectively we are the best manual for the Big Cat.

Are you sure? It's just that I got the impression that he was eternal. Forever cursed to walk this Earth, shouting instructions at noobs trying to replace their alternators.

At the heat-death of the universe, I expect him to be there going "You need another extension on that!" to some little green man from Mu Cephei E who has discovered that Cougars are cheap to buy but expensive to run.

I just feel like I have been here for all eternity Just like Uncle Al .I have nothing better to do!.

There are plenty others than me need a mention. That's what make this club what it is!.

This is very true, but I picked on you specifically because of your history, your tenacity, and the hilarious* way you acknowledge the symptoms of your stroke. I've seen you hold a spanner when you didn't even have to. And it's not possible for you to attend an MFSM and it not be chaotic and fun.

Sorry for the thread derail, funwoody.

* Obviously it wouldn't be funny if you weren't so self-aware about it and didn't make a joke of it yourself.

* To be honest that is the funniest part of it ok I have brain farts. But If Samantha and Vicky make fun of it why shouldn't It it's part of who I am .The last thing I want is sympathy it happened so I just get on with it.

That's a bargain! I had one when I had my Cougars. It rarely served any purpose until I had an earth issue once. I couldn't find the diagrams needed on TIS anywhere. Opened my Chilton book and there it was! The exact diagram I needed to fix an issue. It's my opinion that the Chilton book is very wrongly judged by people that have never used one. I found it to be more useful than any Haynes book for Mk1/2 Mondeo. Some of the mechanical tasks are better covered and in a more real format.
