Cougar 2 In Fife Scrapyard

Remember if you go in - just say " leather out of one of those old cougars " or " a set of cougar dials" don't bring up that's it's a c2 or in anyway rare or the price will triple ! It's just another cougar to them.

I'll say the bulbs cost more than that to replace in the one main beam unit. I hope someone is stock pileing all this 2nd hand C2 stuff in case someone who own's one needs some spare parts

Latest update on the scrapper in Fife. Went down today to enquire about the leather and got quoted 100 pounds plus VAT, i.e. 120 quid. I have seen it previously so promptly told him to stick it. Asked about other parts from the dashboard etc. and got quoted 30 quid for dials, 40 quid for HVAC complete with all switches, 10 quid for headlight surround complete with switch, 30 quid for each alloy wheel complete with tyre and 10 quid for the dashboard top panel with 3 air vents. All these prices had to have VAT added.
I asked the guy where he gets his prices from and he basically said that he just makes them up as he goes. Don't you have specific guidelines for pricing parts so that everyone can benefit. Oh no, some cars are rarer than others, you don't expect to get a starter motor for a Ferrari for 20 quid do you. My answer to that little snippet of useless information was YES I would. You pay around 150 quid for a scrap car regardless of what make, model or condition it is. When this place first started up you advertised ridiculously low prices for parts regardless which car they were from, now, like everything else, your prices have rocketed.

I then asked him about the headlights that Cortina Dave got for a tenner each and he said that he would not have got them at that price from him.

I believe it's just your donald duck who serves you when you go to this place. When I asked about the leather I only said I was looking for a set of seats. He then asked what car? When I said a Cougar, he then asked if it was leather or cloth. He obviously knows his cars.

Many thanks for the enquiry Dick.

The random nature of pricing is frustrating at scrap yards, but in honesty, for c2 parts I think what he is asking is reasonable.

I got a call today off a chap i have bought parts off before now, asking me if i want to buy a dead c2.....watch this space :)

try this one for size kully,i bought a part from a breaker via ebay for the beemer, not bad price i thought,so went to but 2 other parts asked for a price for these.bearing in mind the are second hand parts.a outside temp sensor and plug/loom total price second hand including delivery £23 asked him to lower his price he says no! i bought a brand new sensor and plug/loom for £18 delivered to my door figure that one out?
