Cougar badges

Seen on a few club cars now the cougar badge replacing the ford badges on the front and rear, is there a place I can get these from?
look much better than the ford badge IMO (y)
 
The round front grille badges come on/from US grilles that have a circular mount instead of the oval mount for the Ford badge. Original Mercury boot badges use the same three locating holes as the Ford boot badge.
 
Thanks will give him a message then,so the whole front grill needs to be replaced to fit a round one? Is there not an oval equivalent?
 
You can get gel overlays for the Ford oval - but to be honest, the Mercury badges look heaps better. There are usually plenty of American owners who are in the market for the Ford badges and grilles in return for their Mercury/Cougar head ones. And of course Mercury badges are good for confusing the uninitiated!
On my works carpark pass the make/model section is blank as the office staff couldn't work out what it was :)
 
The grilles come up on ebay from time to time (that's where I got mine), but it sounds like you don't need one.

The only problem with putting a different badge on the back is that I'm sure it promotes tailgating as people drive up close and squint to try and tell what the car is...

I do agree, although i think 99% of motorists don't have a clue what our cars are anyway, so you get tailgaters just trying to get a view of the name/badge. When they see "FORD" it baffles them, then when they see COUGAR, it baffles them even more...:LOL:
 
I suppose it does add a little sense of mystic to the car,
just got mine and already put them on so a big thank you to pid_16v for a great service and decal.

What are the dimensions of oval rear ford badge? I got 45x115mm, and it looks too big. So buying second time I would like to know exact stock measures :)

Sounds like you measured the whole badge. It's only the blue inlay that needs measuring. These will be either 80mm x 30mm or 83mm x 32mm . You could also check my apgraffix discounts thread.

What do you mean by not measuring the whole badge? Im buying the whole badge, so i need to measure it whole...

Al means you need to measure from edge to edge of the blue oval, not including the chrome badge surround. I have these fitted to both my Cougar and my Focus and they are spot on.
 
Yep, i want to change the whole thing, including chrome surrounds... Whole badge... I bought one, and it is too big. And during my repaint i lost my old original badge somewhere... :(
