I have realised my mistake of selling my Cougar and am on the hunt for another one, any advice on price for a 1999 V6 with Xpack, seen one at £850 in a garage with 96k on clock, mot until 05/14 and a few months tax. Was hoping to put a cheeky bid in of £500.(y)

Hello Poose, long time no see. Hope you come back to the fold soon.

To be honest, unless it's mint that does sound a little on the high side. Have you viewed it yet? And if so have you had a good poke around under it, particularly the rear subframe?

Going to view it in the morning, got a good idea of what to look out for but did sound a bit dear to me.

and the sills, lost my last cat to the dreaded tinworm on the sills, good luck with the hunt.

To be fair that's a very long MOT on it... But I would want to see the certificate and find out who the test was done by. If it was the dealer themselves (and the car has sat on their forecourt for two months) I'd be using a much more critical eye.

Obviously you want to have a good look and a tap around (take a little torch with you too!), but if nothing else I'd be having a very close look at the advisories.

Cheers for advice, I'm not rushing to get one will wait until I find the right one. Have been looking at Jags as well but given up on them I think some real rubbish about.
