Just had the cougar in for an MOT all passed but 600 quid lighter, my mates a mechanic and has done a massive amount of work on it, if it wasn't for him doing the work for me as a homer then the poor thing would of been scrap,
I have had to get 2 full sills welded in, some welding below the drivers door, hand brake cable, new front springs, new flexi pipe on exhaust new brake pipes all round, new front brake pads, he even wax oiled the underside and cleaned out all the discs and brakes calipers, plus repaired the fuel filler bracket that was broken.
I have been trying to get to the bottom of an ABS problem for nearly two years and after getting him to replacing a broken rear ring and then a dead front sensor at 8 oclock last night with the mot booked in for this morning we discovered the ABS modulator had died so a quick re-wire behind the dash the ABS light has been wired into the low fuel warning light so it comes on and goes off as it should not an ideal solution but passed the mot.
I have now got the cougar back to how it should be and have got all the corrosion sorted out so really chuffed
