CougarFest 2011 chat/questions thread

Got back about 30 minutes ago, unpacked car then had a nice cup of tea.
Followed the B's on the way back, then lost them in traffic on M1, then they caught me up just before M6 splits for M42 and M6 Toll, which is pretty good going really as I wasn't driving slow ;) honest

It was good to see everyone all be it for only a few hours, nice to see great camaraderie among everyone, and nice to see everyone having a good laugh, Thankyou to Mo for the excellent curried goat and the cups of tea.
Only downside to the 300 mile allround trip .. on the way home got about 1 mile from junction 24 of the M62 (doing 120 mph) heard a big clatter and bang under the car ... followed by a scraping noise, slowed down took it easy to home .. only 2 miles, found the plastic guard between the front bumper and the cross member that protects the intercooler had ripped of leaving a strip of plastic scraping the ground, must have either come loose or caught a bit of debris on the road.

Bad news Phil but hopefully the escort is ok?, was great to see you mate and the car is very very smart.

seems to be running all right, certainly can`t see any other damage .. apart from my underkeks are a bit brown, I`ll see if I can get another cover from the Fraud dealer.

I'd try that route before buying one. Don't say anything about hitting owt or the speed, it must have been loose to start with. Bit's shouldn't just come off, even if it is a Ford.

Hopefully just the guard Phil, try GGR to see if they do an ally replacement or Bailey Motorsport ;)

Lol all joking aside I loved the fact so many couples attended gave it a very very good atmosphere.

ooh! post number 9!!! this is getting to be a bit of a bad habit!!!. What can i say? of course massive thanks to Jason for organising what is deemed the last fest. I understand how hard and thankless organising social events can be!!! Thank you to everyone who came, you have made this weekend very very enjoyable for me. It was great to meet up with our old friends and of course to meet up with some new. I would also like to thank Mr.B for his scrummy cake and for having a tidy up on both saturday morning and sunday. I hope that all of you who had a go on the water slide are as sore as Richard and myself. I still had to lift my foot onto the clutch, I had to laugh tonight when Richard had to lift his leg into his trainer!!! but it was worth it, really enjoyed watching you all on it and then finally having a go!!. If i don't see you before, see you at the next fest (not fest).

sorry i was only there so briefly - its unbelievable how long it takes to mobilize my kids at a weekend. :cautious::cautious:

However in my short time their it was great to see all the guys and girls i already know and to meet a lot of new people that I hope to meet again (y). My apologies to those i never got the time to talk to but it really was a flying visit. :giggle:

Thanks especially to the guys who kept my boy amused playing footy - you bought me an extra half hour .

Got back to MK in 18 minutes and thankfully the credit card isnt quite maxxed yet.

Hope last nite was as fun as it looked like it was going to be and that everybody had a safe trip home
