CougarFest 2011 chat/questions thread

What can I say My cherry well and truly popped I would like to thank everybody for making this a top weekend. Good to spend some quality time with friends and to meet some new ones. As some of you know this was quite away out of my comfort zone but it has left me wanting more. There were so many highlights but Bobby and Dusty pitching thier tent was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Thank you to everyone again.

Thanks to the boys (JJ and KSL) for organizing this great weekend, the B's for providing a standard of catering service that is second to none (cheers Rich for the use of the Barby) big thanks to whoever managed to get me to have a go on the water slide (the medical bill is coming your way....owwwwww!) great fun ;) and just a general thankyou to everyone who made it a great weekend and a great laugh......o_O
 
Absolutely brilliant, yet again. Loads of happy smiley faces. Even the Saturday morning rain hardly dampened the spirit. Mark aka charliecd001 is no longer a fest virgin :beer:, we got to see just how many shandys a southerner can put away:LOL:. A massive waterslide permanently occupied by some surprising participants, and every minute of the weekend thoroughly enjoyable. Really guys, from the heart of my bottom, thanks to all just for being such brilliant company, it all ends so much sooner than i'd like. I hate goodbyes, and i had to say quite a few yesterday :( Nevermind eh! we can all do it again next year (y):)

Landed back at Chez Wogan at around 3pm yesterday - excellent run up the road with only the odd torrential downpour to contend with.

Once again, 'Fest was a complete blast. From meeting up with various people at various service stations on the way down the road on Friday, to waving off Dick and Dar yesterday as our three car convoy parted ways at Scotch Corner and Barton respectively.

It was so good to see everyone again - it's one thing bantering back and forth on here, and there are some real giggles on the forum, but face-to-face, it's just downright hilarious. Never before have I witnessed so many people, from so many different age groups, backgrounds, regions, walks of life - even gingers - all crackling along on the same wavelength.

And it's all thanks to a Ford.

Highlights include;


  • Bobby & Dusty and the tent sketch. There are a few photos, but I can only hope there's some video. Tony (Topcat) and Paul (Procomm) looked as though they were going to have a coronary!
  • JJ's look of horror when he saw an airbed and tow-rope being assembled
  • Everyone else's look of disappointment when said tow-rope and air bed had to be put away.
  • The waterslide - again - though I'm still washing Fairy liquid out of my hair, and DAMN do I ache!!!
  • Dan (Mini Mofo) making like Big Bird......with a carrot stitched to his head
  • Rich B and the buckets of water - I think the final score was 40-30 to him
  • JJ's ICE....has to be heard (and seen) to be believed. I've never seen a rear windo try to part company with the rest of the car before.
  • The 'Fest kettle - like an old friend, good to see again.
.....etc, etc, etc.

There really is just too much to list, and if you missed it, you missed an absolute blinder!

Huge thanks to JJ and Kully for organising it all once again - a thankless task, and I know it's a total headache, what with insurance and whatnot to be sorted out.

Rich B and THE cake. Dude, it was simply beautiful - I hope it's not the last time I get to taste it.

Bobby & Dusty for either providing, or at least instigating at least half of all the laughs at the weekend.

Mo for turning out yet more delicious food......and for a photo shoot that can only be described as duuuurty :)

And to everone else. I cannot think of another group of people who I would rather spend the weekend with in a field in Northampton. Thank you all for making it what it was.

Really had a great time over the weekend, ribs are still sore from laughing at the Bob and Dusty show. What was that red thing I ate as I am still worried about going for a number 2 just incase it burns o_O Was great to meet up with so many friends, and look forward to seeing you all again next year when we all go camping in the same field on the same days in mid July (y)
 
Yet again, another great Fest, enjoyed the whole weekend. It was good to see some new faces and members I hadn't yet met, but chatted to via the forum. Good stuff peeps. Thanks to JJ and Kully for organising it all and also thank you to RichB for letting me use your BBQ to cook me food on :)

See you all again in 2012!!!
 
We had a great weekend again at our second Fest. After a mammoth 9 hour drive from Cornwall on the Friday we arrived late so the help we received from Tim, Steve, Rachel (and anyone else who I missed out) in pitching our tent in gusty wind was much appreciated (y)

Plenty of laughs and good times with the UKC people and Kathy had a great time on the waterslide (but she's paying for it now, aching all over) :LOL:

Thanks to JJ, Kully and anyone else who played a part in organising what is a unique event in the club calendar (y)

Also, thanks to Rich and Ria for the Fest Cake and the broken biscuit cake which were both yummy :D

Oh yes, thanks to Mo for the gorgeous fried chicken and the Goat Curry that Kathy had been looking forward to so much (y)

Looking forward to seeing everyone next year at NotFest 2012 (y)

I'd have thought a chilli that hot would have cleared your airways Paul, but judging by the snoring coming from your tent, it obviously didn't. Try 2 next time. :LOL::devilish:
