Cougarfest 2012 july 20/21/22/23

Ok thinking on this some more.

I will take deposits of £20 per car + driver on the basis that IF the venue is available for the date I propose then they will become NON Refundable if however the dates are not available then I will offer a refund.

So there it is guys let's see who is serious about this.

Deposits must include USER NAME, REAL NAME and must include a note specifying what it is for any sent without all info will be refused.

Send it to jasonjonesgsxr@hotmail.co.uk

I will start a new thread now for a list of who has sent deposits.

Assuming venue etc can be had.

Sadly later than expected, so doubtful we will make this now as we will probably be doing some work on our home in Thailand.. but if things change over the next 8 weeks we will see what happens..

if it was the weekend before, would it be any better for people, either way i need to book holidays , but if it was to fit in better to peoples pre existing plans then i would be willing to change, seems a few of regular forum members cant make on this date.

Ps jj, know this doesnt help you in terms of organising but just looking at max possible turnout.

Weekend before I can't do as is the weekend before wife and daughter go to America on the 16th.

My original suggestion was first weekend of July or last weekend of June. The dates already suggested will be into the summer holidays an might not be good for everyone.

No dates are good for everyone!. I've put it towards end as its a bit after Fest and two weeks before ford fair. A lot go to ford fair who don't go to Fest or nationals but most who go to nationals attend Fest and helps spread event costs a bit more, nationals and Fest are a fair few £ then on top of that fuel to get there.

IMO the last weekend of July being the summer holidays is going to be busier on the roads, on campsites etc and also it's in peak season. Theres also facilities costs which could be higher due to season because of wedding and outdoor catering etc being at its highest. It's also when most people will have to make alternative arrangements around kids etc who might not normally bring them. With Nationals being later this year it has thrown it out a bit but there's still 4 months to save and plan for it.

I know there's never going to be a weekend to suit everyone but surely one that's not into actual holiday season would be better.

We're only a week away from the usual date, is there anything that we could do to make it a little more interesting on Saturday? Maybe if people want their windows tinting or similar? Maybe have some merchandise for the club to sell, commemorative mugs or something, anything that could subsidise the event. This club really has missed the boat re merchandise, how nice would it be to have a ukc keyring on your car keys? Maybe there's somebody that could personalise them with a username as well, the possibilities are endless.
The club is never going to be a money spinner re merchandise, but it is a source of revenue that could help to subsidise and ensure the continuation of the clubs annual event.

It has come up on various occasions about not having Cougarfest 2012 and a lot of people have expressed their sadness that it mightn't be happening, the club has asked for interested parties to make a committment towards it by way of a deposit. A few have done so but what's happening with everybody else? The reaction has, at best, been luke warm. Comments anybody?

Massive upheaval at work this year, as I'm transferring to another branch of the Army, this will also entail a new posting and therefore a house move. As things stand, I've no idea when we we're moving or where to. If the dates fall favourably, then I'll come.
