CougarFest 2014

Personally Andy I think the format of last year's event was just right, would prefer to be a bit closer to the water this year if possible

Lakeside wasn't a pitch as such, more a last minute thing as the field was so wet. Where we were last year was as close a field as there is I think. It's literally just out the gate. If it's wet when you go, the bank is worse than being on a flat. If there's a wedding or anything on at the same time you'll have to use the toilet and shower block back in that field anyway as the clubhouse can get reserved for events.

Is there a preferred/proposed date yet?

That is what I found when I tried to book the lakeside area last year, they couldn't guarantee that it would be free for our use as it's main use is for a car park and picnicking area. There is another part of Grendon, called Frankies Field, that has waterside pitches but it is further from the showers and can't be booked for sole use.

No date as yet Kully, but I would think around the middle of July would suit most people as last year.

11,12,13 or 18,19, 20 July???

Any date would be fine with me just let me know Andy if I can help in anyway as I only l live about 3 miles from the venue

is Grendon the preferred site again?

Paul, I started this thread to gather ideas etc for this year and it appears from the comments so far it's assumed we'd be going back to Grendon. I've tried to find other places offering similar facilities in other parts of the country but have drawn a blank so far. If you, or anyone else, know of another location worth considering then please post the details in here for general discussion. (y)

If it's at Grendan, we may attend but from the sound of it, everybody was badly bitten by the mosquito's last year, I know that this didn't happen in the field where we were for the first 3 years or at the lakeside in 2012. You don't want to be uncomfortable because of something that could be avoided. We are possibles and don't even have the cars anymore so will decide nearer the time based on what the majority want to do.

Don't worry about not having a cougar mate, Me & Emma came in my little "shitbox" fiesta last year and will probably attend again this year all being well (as Mr & Mrs Harrison this time round) I didn't notice the mozys myself (don't like skinny meat) just the excessive heat last summer, and people using the field as a throughfair....most annoying
