Cougarfest 2020

Unfortunately I will not be attending Cougarfest this year for a couple of reasons.
My car is still not working. I changed the fuel pump and it made no difference. I have checked the fuse and relay and all seem to be OK.I am not getting 12V to the pump, so, I suspect there is a break somewhere along the line. Could possibly be the fuel cut off switch. The button is fully depressed, but, the car is in the garage and the passenger side is up against the wall, so, I can not get the panel off to change it without pushing the car out. Can't be bothered doing that just now and I have another car that I can use.
My brother is coming up to mine to give me a hand to put decking down at the area just outside my back door, the place where we all did my engine change. He is waiting for the government to lift the restrictions on travelling and I am waiting for the wood yard to re-open so I can get the materials. It is going to cost around 7 or 8 hundred quid, so, I think I will give fest a miss this year.
 
Hi all, firstly, great news that cougar fest is going ahead,but sadly we won't be coming this year . It's a bit too far for us to come up for the day and we're not happy stay in accommodation just yet and our camping days are behind us! We're looking forward to meeting you all when circumstances allow but until then, all the best and have a great time. Pat and Maggie
 
Dick, you'll be missed, but that's perfectly understandable.

If you remember I had to hedge over Scotfest because of likely redundancy (which did happen in the end - I've been out of work since March 30th) and my boiler breaking down terminally (I'm really going to have to get around to that getting replaced soon), all of which meant that I needed to at least consider being sensible for once.

Pat, that would indeed be a long old schlep for just one day. Catch you at the next convenient meet, okay? You seem like a really interesting bloke and I for one look forward to meeting you and Maggie.
 
Andy has kindly informed me that the forum is in a position to reimburse full members for one night of their camping fee.
Not long to go now, looking forward to seeing faces old and new.
 
I am so looking forward to our first Cougar event and probably our first real road trip in our new kitty! So am I right in thinking that we don't need to pay a deposit or book anything directly with the site? We just pay before we leave? We want a tent pitch for the duration with electric please x What is the ticket price if there is one and how do I pay?

Also I know no one knows us but we have a 6 man tent between two of us so anyone who wants our spare pod is more than welcome! Although my hubby does snore ha ha x
 
Yes. You rock up, pitch up, spend your days and then pay as you leave. Incredibly, they work on trust.

Out of interest, has your other half received their Cougar yet?

Sounds good. He has not. It is not our birthday til the 26th July. So its all still top secret til Sunday! I tell you now I better get something more than a garage bunch of flowers from him for my birthday 🎂 :LOL:
 
Matt do you still need a tent? My neighbour has an Aztec Sala 6 tent to give away for free. She says the person who gave it to her had had it re waterproofed.
 
Thanks Lisa but I doubt I'd be able to fetch it before then. I don't see me doing any camping to need something that size, thanks for thinking of me but hopefully it'll find someone who can make proper use of it(y)

If anyone's got any kind of shelter, I'm not going to be able to collect either of the club ones now so if you could chuck it in id be grateful, even if its just a tarp. Hopefully dry weather will prevail so we might get on ok with just some shade.
