Right decision time with things as they stand we can afford the marquee and that's it.

Only thing I can think is if people bring bbqs and we will make do without gas one and the fridge.

I am going to be there without a doubt regardless of fridge/BBQ as long as we have the marquee to shelter from any inclement weather I don't give a monkeys.

Shame there'll be no fridge. If it's a scorcher then there'll be a lot of food going off real quick, especially if people are bringing with and travelling for a while in the cars first!

Every year it seems to get harder and harder to get people to pay up and come along. Only one of a few meets which we pretty much know for sure when it's gonna be in plenty of time, months even ffs!

No worse than nationals mate for keeping food.

Aye it'll be a shame there being no fridge but if it means Fest still going ahead then I can live with that. I'm sure we can arrange between us runs to the supermarket in Wellingborough each day as it's not too far away. As for travelling with food - we'll be picking up food on the way (y)

We always bring a big cooler bag with one or two 2ltr bottles of frozen water.
That seems to keep things cool.

It is a shame that we always struggle to get people to come to fest.
Especially as it's the best meet of the year and without the pressure of an early start/late finish and 2 long journeys all in the same day.
At least with fest you can have a full weekend of fun.
I can't understand why people don't want to come.

I'm just going on the weekend at Tatton, the Friday night and Saturday day were melting hot and a lot of stuff in cool boxes etc will thaw rapidly as it gets proper hot inside tents which sometimes gets forgotten.

if it helps i am willing to throw in an extra £5 , it would cost me that in gas to badly cook a few bangers/burgers over the weekend,

Would it be possible to forgo the marquee, and have a fridge? I'm sure Chris and Tims gazebo would be good enough for covering the fridge, and possibly a gas stove or two, if they're o.k. with bringing it. I'm sure amongst us we could rustle up a gazebo or two as well, although maybe not on the scale of their's.

I'd much rather a proper marquee especially if the wind is like nationals it would be a necessity no disrespect to Chris or tims.

I agree with this, we need a central meeting/gathering point at fest, and it needs to be substantial enough to withstand strong winds o_O and hard rain o_O, well you never know do ya!...and the marque is always a focal point.
As for cooking/cooling etc, Manos makes the point, we can all take cooler box/bags with frozen water/ freezer blocks. Between us all we have enough gas cookers/camping stoves/bbq's etc.
For cooling beer (very important) bring a bucket with you, fill it with cold water and put a good supply of cans into it, and keep it in a shaded cool area. Replenish as/when required :)
We have a plug-in type cooler box as well as a heavy duty off car charger unit which will keep our personal stuff cool and can be plugged into the car for recharging for ten minutes or so.
Now for the attendance figures! :(

Could I just point out, us soft southern shandy drinkers like our beer ice cold, not like you northern monkeys that like drinking warm flat beer. :p

Us Northerners could bring some nice cold water with us (seeing as we have no 'drought conditions' up here). But we won't :devilish:

Thats fair enough, you southern shandy drinkers can sit outside in the cold with your nice ice cold shandy, and the rest of us will sit in our nice warm dry marque and enjoy our far superior warm stuff :p:LOL:

You don't have drought conditions because you drink out of the toilet. :p

1 I like to drink my ice cold shandy in the warm, and 2 who said it's going to be cold? For you Northern folk, it'll be positively balmy, especially if it's above freezing.

I've paid already Al, so I'll be there in my thermal tent, with a huge generator, American style fridge, and a security guard that won't let a Northern Monkey within 30 yards of us. :D

Better pitch your tent the other side of the field then...... :)
