Cougarfest meet ups

You don't wana go that way....you wana get off on the M4, go along to the M25, round the M25 and then up the M1.....simples :devilish:

Think I'll just drive right there, we end up waiting for someone and getting to the campsite just as its about to rain otherwise

WTF do you know about route planning?? Suggesting the M25 on a Friday?? :censored:

Get back in the kitchen you berk

That route is even longer than the way he was gonna come originally. Fool

It's fairly straight forward mate. Just keep following signs. There are 2 speed cameras on the A46 once you're past Evesham and you take the Stratford turn by the BP garage. If you have a sat nav to follow, come off at J9 of the M5 and keep on the A46 by following road signs or the sat nav will try and take you back upto the M5 via the outback lol. Once you're at Warwick It should direct you onto the A45.

If I had my own place at the mo I'd have suggested you do same as last year mate but I can't.

Having said that there is a Holiday Inn and a Premier Inn just up the road if you wanted to travel up Thursday ;)

Thanks Kully, I've had a good look at the route, as you say, pretty straight forward, so shouldn't be an issue. I will be leaving mine at around 7am on Friday (got stuff to sort on Thursday, so can't come up then, but thanks for the offer of staying at hotel and meeting you in the morning). The AA Auto route thing says it'll take about 4hrs 26 mins from mine to Grendon, so we'll see if it's right!! lol I intend just taking my time and get there at my own leisure. I should arrive about midday, if not before. See you there...or may even see you all on the road?? lol

I know  the "fosse" way would have been a decent alternative "as the crow flys" ......although I did one year have to get to silverstone from Devon so did a similar route as You sugested, M5, M4, off on A34, bypass Oxford onto M40 then across country to silverstone.....If Tim went a little thurther he'd come across M1 and be heading in right direction for Grendon lakes/Northampton.....bit of a jaunt but better than M5/M42/M6/M1......thatsalmost what I've got to do (minus M5) and i think its a tad of a pain in the butt

It's the route I used to do in the van down to Exeter every night Tim, in a Sprinter restricted to 72mph I could do Rugby to Exeter via Bristol in 3hrs 50mins. 3hrs 20mins coming back using that route I mentioned. In the Transits however, well, that's a different story that would incriminate me lmfao :)

You might recall the elevenses I laid down in that Maccy D's that night the Corsa and Spaxo boys were in there

You could easily just go M42, A45 you pillock!

Yeh, I do remember....wasn't the engine on the van glowing at that stage?? LOL!!!!!

Looking at it, there isn't much between the three routes (going on Google maps workings) from Exeter to Grendon is gonna take about 4 hours either way and your gonna cover just over 210miles approx* (*224miles if you come all the way up to Birmingham, 205miles via M5/A46, and 214 miles via M5/M4)

Matt, seriously get out more or go and hump your C1.2495 some more!! You need some activity in your life (y)

We'll be heading up from Cornwall around 10ish so hope to get to Grendon around 4pm (ish) (y)

A shame your not leaving earlier, we could have convoy'ed up together. I'm leaving mine about 7am as want to get there by midday'ish and then get the tent up and start relaxing lol

Bad news guys - the Phoenix is NOT going to be reborn in time for 'fest so I guess I won't be allowed to join the convoy in a fully liveried ECP FM* Picasso as it would be too embarassing :(

Having said that - I'm not confident that we could get there for 12.00 - it's 150 miles for us but I'll have a go - and I'll try not to drive past this time

Mark's coming round to mine about 09.30 and we are planning to hit the road by 10.00 which should, in theory anyway, get us there by 12.00. Unfortunately I will still be cougarless :(
